2:00PM - 3:00PM @ Soul Tribe Studio (Batemans Bay)
Kava (Piper methysticum) has been shared culturally across the Pacific Islands for over a thousand years. Known for its ability to relax the body whilst lifting mood and sharpening awareness, kava is an incredible plant which traverses the space between being both a social ritual and plant medicine. Whether you’re a seasoned kava lover, have tried it before and you’re keen for another experience or maybe you’ve never tried it and you’re curious. - this is your chance to share some incredible varieties of kava from Vanuatu in a group setting and connect more deeply with this plant your community.
In this immersive outdoor session, you’ll:
Learn the ethnobotanical origins and cultural history of kava across the Pacific
Understand how it works pharmacologically and why it can have astounding health benefits when used correctly
Discuss traditional preparation methods and participate in a shared kava circle with the opportunity to have two servings of kava to taste and experience
Discuss the intersection of modern science and ancient plant wisdom to culturally appreciate what this plant has to offer individuals and communities into the 21st century.
The experience runs for approximately 1 hour and includes the opportunity to drink two shells of kava, with information shared about the plant, discussion, and time for questions. With your booking you have the opportunity to purchase a 250g bag of Root & Pestle premium noble kava powder from Vanuatu and straining bag for you to prepare kava at home and share with your friends and family (add on at checkout).

We acknowledge their enduring culture and unceded sovereignty of this place which nourishes and sustains us all.
