Join us for an interactive session at our home garden where we’ll be showing you step-by-step how easy it is to create your own shiitake mushroom logs at home.
Presented for the South Coast Fungi Festival 2025, and as a part of the Nourished Sovereign’s ‘Making a Living’ ‘Community Resiliency Workshop Series, join us for an interactive session at our home garden where we’ll be showing you step-by-step how easy it is to create your own shiitake mushroom logs at home. Shiitake mushrooms are incredibly nutritious and delicious and we’ll get you up to speed on how you can have your own supply at home using very little time, resources and effort. We’ll also be taking the time to show you around our permaculture-based home garden, speaking about the multifaceted role of fungi throughout the garden ecosystem.
We’ll have some of our much loved housemade wholefood sweets, tonics and refreshments for you on the day too. Price is $35 pp. Kids are welcome free of charge whilst we ask that you leave your pets at home.
We (Andy and Ash) are a couple of passionate home food growers and whether you’re a keen gardener yourself or just getting started on the journey, this is a great chance to come and connect and inspire each other. We use principles of permaculture, biodynamics and agroecological methods of growing food - as well as other skills and experience we’ve picked up in our decades long evolution of home gardening in the different places we’ve lived.
